FAQs, Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to translate a document?

It depends on the length and complexity of a document, and the delivery deadline agreed.

Why can't I find rates on your website?

There are no standard rates. Rates vary from time to time depending on the document to translate. I prepare immediate free quotes.

How long does it take to translate a document?

Delivery times also depend on the length and complexity of your document. In addition to the price, quotes also include the estimated delivery date.

Can you also translate between foreign languages?

Yes, but seldom. In any case, the translation will be checked by a native speaker of the target language before delivery.

Do you offer translation services in a field of specialization or language pair not listed here?

Yes, I rely on highly skilled translator colleagues to manage projects in other fields of specialization or language pairs.

What is a sworn translation?

A sworn or certified translation is a translation that has been formally verified for use in official purposes. Documents that require certified translation services might include papers that have to be submitted to a government agency (such as birth, marriage and divorce certificates), official transcripts (such as high school certificates, university degrees and vocational training certificates), regulatory documents (such as informed consents, protocols, research data forms and case report forms), patents and many others. In Italy, the translator guarantees the truthfulness and accuracy of a translation by taking an oath before a notary or any court or tribunal.

Do you use CAT tools?

Yes, I own the best CAT tools on the market such as Star Transit XV, Alchemy Catalyst, Trados and SDLX.

Translation glossary

CAT tool

Software program that stores all translated sentences together with the corresponding source text in a database. During translation, the program compares each sentence of the source text with the reference material contained in its database: if it finds a match, it suggests the found target sentence as a possible translation. If not, it allows to add a new translation of the sentence.
